The seller was represented by Merle A. Delivered by the Dutch yacht builder <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/18" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amels (Company)">Amels</a> in 1974, she started her life as a pilot vessel. In 1996, she was converted into a luxury superyacht by the Australian shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/215" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Oceanfast (Company)">Oceanfast</a>. The late <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/17" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bannenberg & Rowell Design (Company)">Jon Bannenberg</a> was responsible for her new interior and exterior redesign. Then, in 2003, her bridge deck was lengthened at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/89" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arredamenti Porto (Company)">Arredamenti Porto</a> in Genoa. Entirely constructed in steel and with a volume of 1,019 GT, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/723" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Altair III59.0m (193'7&quot;)Amels1974">Altair III</a> can cruise comfortably at 7 knots and reach a top speed of 13 knots.

The 56m Oceanfast superyacht Sirona III has been sold, she had a last known asking price of $17,500,000 at the time of sale.

Her large circular windows were a signature touch of her designer, who used this design feature on several yachts built in that period, such as <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/maridome" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">Maridome</a> and <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/my-lady-arraya" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">My Lady Arraya</a>.
